Parents/Guardians/Community Members can make our schools more successful by becoming classroom aides, office assistants, tutors, lunchroom supervisors, library assistants, field trip chaperones, etc. Volunteers make a significant contribution to the staff and students each year and allow our staff to offer a better program for our students. For this reason, parents/guardians/community members are welcomed and encouraged to share their talents and resources by working as a volunteer in our schools.
If you are interested in becoming a parent/guardian/community member volunteer then please contact your child's school. You will need to complete a Parent/Guardian/Community Member Volunteer Application and a CORI (see below) and bring these forms to the main office with a government-issued photo I.D.
You will only be eligible to volunteer if you receive a favorable CORI check. In addition, if you are seeking to become a volunteer that will take on a role other than a chaperone, you must speak with the building principal to gain approval. Please note that the Parent/Guardian/Community Member Volunteer Application only needs to be filled out if you are a recurring volunteer in the schools. This does not apply to chaperones for field trips, etc. However, a CORI check is required in all cases.
