News:

I would like to welcome all the new students and families to Albert Ford Middle School. I will try to make this a smooth transition but I can not do it without your help. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns regarding your children and we will do the best that we can to alleviate those concerns.

Within these past couple of weeks I have seen and heard of many students who are becoming overwhelmed with the work and expectations by their teachers. Please assure your children that this is not an uncommon feeling and that many other students are probably feeling the same way.

Here are some ways parents can help ease some of the anxiety:

*      Break down homework assignments.

*      Check out the homework page http://www.acushnetschools.us/ford/homework/homework.htm or your child’s AGENDA BOOK for homework information. It is updated every day.

*      Don’t let them wait until the last minute to do homework.

*      Have them take short breaks during their homework time.

*      Try to have them keep organized- the easier it is to find work and books the less stressful it will feel.

*      Talk to teachers or other staff about what is expected of your child or concerns.

*      Most students have a library period that can be used to read or do homework

*      Students are welcomed to stay after school for extra help with work

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL

7TH GRADERS

Let’s start off to a good year. Make sure your children are completing those homework assignments and class work. Don’t let them fall behind this early in the game.

Please stay in touch with what is going on in school. We have already seen bullying incidents among the students, issues around eating, and relationship issues, to name a few. Feel free to contact the guidance office with any concerns or referral options.
