Students Participate in My America!
Mrs. Deslauriers' and Mr. Demanche's fourth-grade classes, along with Mrs. Menear's third-grade class, recently participated in My America, a national youth-driven project commemorating America's 250th Anniversary.
Our students joined thousands of young people from across the country in creating a massive flag mosaic built from the reflections, creativity, and hopes of today's youth. Through this meaningful project, they had the opportunity to share their perspectives and contribute to a nationwide celebration of our country's history and future.

One of our favorite end-of-year traditions at AES is when our fourth graders create their very own tie-dye t-shirts! Students had a blast designing unique patterns and choosing vibrant colors to make shirts that are as individual as they are.
This annual activity gives students a chance to express their creativity, enjoy time with their classmates, and make special memories as the school year comes to a close. We can't wait to see all of the colorful finished products!

Our fourth graders in Mr. Demanche’s class put their math skills to work during a fun and engaging Free Throw Challenge! Each student took 10 free throws and recorded the number of baskets they made. They then worked collaboratively in groups to organize the data and create line plots to represent their results.
This hands-on activity combined movement, teamwork, and real-world data analysis, helping students strengthen their understanding of graphing and data interpretation while having fun!

STEM Learning in Action at P. J. Keating!
Our 4th grade students had an incredible opportunity to visit P.J. Keating's rock quarry and experience real-world STEM learning firsthand!
Students participated in hands-on activities, including cookie mining, which taught them about the mining process while practicing problem-solving and engineering skills. They also toured the quarry and got an up-close look at the equipment used in the industry.
One of the highlights of the day was receiving their very own hard hats and exploring the quarry as young scientists and engineers!
A huge thank you to P. J. Keating for being such a wonderful community partner and for providing our students with an engaging and memorable learning experience.

At Acushnet Elementary School, we love celebrating our students through our Good News Call Home tradition! Teachers nominate students for a variety of reasons—from showing kindness and perseverance to working hard and making great choices.
Students are invited to the office where they are recognized with a special award and a Smencil—one of their favorite parts! 😊 Even more exciting, they get to be celebrated by their teacher, Mrs. Chesney, and Ms. Pasetto.
The best part? Parents receive a positive phone call home, sharing the wonderful news about their child. These moments of recognition mean so much to our students and families, and you can see the pride and excitement on their faces!
We are so proud of our AES Wildcats—keep up the amazing work! 💛🐾
