🐍 Meet Kellogg, Our Slithery 6th Grade Superstar! 🐍

Once upon a time in Room 204, a curious corn snake named Kellogg slithered his way into the hearts of our 6th graders. At first, there were a few squeals (and maybe a step or two back), but before long, students were lining up to feed him, clean his habitat, and tell him about their day.

Kellogg isn’t just a class pet , he’s a lesson in responsibility, respect, and courage. He reminds us that learning can be hands-on, heartwarming, and just a little bit wild!

Here’s to Kellogg, the quietest (but coolest) member of our 6th grade family. 💚

Full Rotation Moment in Science Education

Sometimes the best part of being an educator is seeing how the spark you helped ignite keeps growing. This week, Mr. Saulnier, Mrs. Gregg, Mr. Cote, and Mr. Greenhalgh, a few of our amazing middle school science teachers, attended a conference focused on the OpenSciEd curriculum, a program that’s transforming how our students explore science through inquiry and discovery.

While there, they had a surprise encounter with one of their former students, Kaitlyn—now a fellow science educator attending the same conference! “Seeing Kaitlyn there as a teacher reminded us why we do what we do,” said Mrs. Gregg. “It’s incredible to know that something we helped spark years ago is now lighting up her own classroom.”

What started as a quick hello turned into a heartwarming conversation about curiosity, teaching, and how one classroom experience can inspire a lifelong passion for science. Moments like these remind us that the impact of great teaching goes far beyond the classroom.

✨ Heroes Behind the Scenes at Ford Middle School! ✨

Every morning before the first bell rings, Mr. Smith and Mr. DeJesus are already hard at work—making sure our hallways shine, the classrooms feel welcoming, and the gym floor is ready for the day’s activities.

Last week, during a surprise rainstorm, they went above and beyond by quickly setting up extra mats and wet floor signs so that the entrances were dry and our students could arrive safely. Their quick thinking and dedication kept everyone moving and smiling.

It’s these little moments, often unseen, show just how much they care about our school community. 💛
