Today our middle schoolers traded screens for service at Gifts to Give and it turned into one of those days that sticks. 💛

At first, the warehouse felt huge and a little intimidating. But within minutes, they were sorting sneakers, folding brand-new jackets, and matching pajama into neat stacks.

Later, a box split open and supplies spilled everywherr, no big announcement, no adults directing, just a quick team huddle: “I’ll grab tape!” “I’ll sort!” “You make a new pile!” In less than a minute, the mess became a system.

By the end, tired arms, proud faces, and one simple takeaway: kindness looks a lot like showing up and doing the work.

Today at Middle School Chess Club, one quiet 7th grader surprised everyone. After weeks of practicing openings and learning from older players, he finally pulled off his very first checkmate, against an 8th grader!

The whole room lit up with cheers, high-fives, and a proud smile that said it all. It was Flannel Friday at Ford and the hallways were full of cozy colors and patterns. Among the sea of plaid, one pair stood out , a mom and daughter duo who showed up in matching white and black flannel shirts.

They laughed as students pointed out their twinning outfits, proudly showing that school spirit runs in the family. For them, it wasn’t just about the matching shirts, it was about sharing a moment, starting the day with smiles, and showing support for their school community together.

It was a simple reminder that sometimes, the best school memories are made when families join in the fun. Our 8th graders recently took an exciting trip to tOld Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School, and their eyes were opened to a world of possibilities! From welding sparks and culinary creations to robotics and design labs, students got a glimpse of the many paths their futures could take.

There was curiosity, laughter, and plenty of “wow” moments as they imagined where their interests and talents might lead them next. The visit was more than a tour, it was a spark of inspiration!

🐍 Meet Kellogg, Our Slithery 6th Grade Superstar! 🐍

Once upon a time in Room 204, a curious corn snake named Kellogg slithered his way into the hearts of our 6th graders. At first, there were a few squeals (and maybe a step or two back), but before long, students were lining up to feed him, clean his habitat, and tell him about their day.

Kellogg isn’t just a class pet , he’s a lesson in responsibility, respect, and courage. He reminds us that learning can be hands-on, heartwarming, and just a little bit wild!

Here’s to Kellogg, the quietest (but coolest) member of our 6th grade family. 💚
