This week's Espresso Express

🎶 Exciting news from our middle school chorus! 🥁 Today, our talented students traded in their sheet music for something a little different – African drums! 🌍🥁 They're diving into rhythm, culture, and beats that resonate from across the globe. 🌟 Stay tuned for the incredible sounds they'll bring to our next performance! 🎵👏 #MusicEducation #CulturalExchange #DrummingJourney 🥁✨

🔬📚 Excited to partner with Open Sci Ed – where curiosity meets exploration! Our students dive into the wonders of science with their open-access resources, which are designed to spark innovation and discovery in every student. This week's question in STEM-How can we use chemical reactions to design a solution to a problem? In this unit, students are introduced to the anchoring phenomenon—a flameless heater in a Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE) that provides hot food to people by just adding water. #OpenSciEd #ScienceEducation 🌌🔍

🌟✨ Our 4th and 5th graders light up the dance floor at our Glow Dance! Thank you to the Acushnet PTO for hosting a night of neon fun and dancing under the blacklights.💃🕺 #GlowDance #NeonNight #DanceParty 🎉🎶

Students in the 7th grade visited Bridgewater State University and participated in either the Does this Parking Look "Green" to You? Watershed Access Lab Module or the Crucial Concentration CityLab module.
Students participating in the Watershed Lab Module studied phosphorus contamination in a parking lot using standard curves and spectrophotometric analysis (the watershed equivalent to Crucial Concentration). Students in the watershed program also learned about impervious surfaces and the use of low-impact design (LID) for improving water quality.
Students in the CityLab module were "hired" by the Perfect Solution Company and challenged to investigate the protein content of sports drinks in the context of "truth in advertising.” This module introduces students to micropipettes for measuring small volumes of liquid. Students perform colorimetric assays with spectrophotometers to determine the amount of protein in drinks from three different manufacturers. Math skills involve analyzing the data, including graphing and determining linear relationships between variables.

🌟✏️ Witnessing incredible teamwork in our 5th-grade math class today! 🙌 From problem-solving to peer tutoring, these young minds are showing true collaboration at its finest. 💡📐 Whether it's tackling fractions or mastering long division, seeing them support each other is truly inspiring! 🚀🔢 #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork #MathMasters #FifthGradeHeroes 📚👏
